Library Expansion Fact Sheet
THE EXISTING 6,800 sq. ft. BUILDING HAS BEEN EXPANDED
TO APPROX. 10,000 sq. ft.
THE ADDITION AND RENOVATION INCLUDE:
• A new children's room with an area for Story Time
• New heat and air conditioning systems
• Upgraded and enlarged public bathrooms
• The wall that had separated the old children and
adult areas has been removed
• The adult, reference, audio/visual, periodical and
computer areas have been expanded throughout this area
• Quiet study and reading areas have been established
• The circulation and technical services areas have been
relocated and reorganized
• The entire building now meets mandated handicapped
accessibility standards
FUNDING
The East Hanover Library has been awarded $203,036.00
towards the project from the Library Construction Bond
Fund, a grant funded by the State Library.
East Hanover is one of 73 New Jersey Libraries
that will benefit from this grant.
• The balance of the project is being funded entirely by the Library
• $300,000 has been used from the Library's savings
• The outstanding debt will be paid from the Library's
annual state mandated budget
